MANNA HOUSE
OVERVIEW OF THE OPERATING STRUCTURE

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
There are 25 participating congregations that volunteer once a month at Manna House. There is a representative from each of the congregations that serves on the Board of Directors and two members from the First Presbyterian Church of Newton, the church that houses the program.

The Board meets on the first Monday of each month to review minutes, reports, statistics, menus, procedures, and old and new business. The Board of Directors hires and oversees the employees and are the decision makers, planners, problem solvers, and facilitators of the program.

Manna House is staffed by two part time employees.

Calendar for the upcoming year is passed around. Members
sign-up for a day each month that their congregation will serve January through December of that next year. Any days that are not covered are quickly covered throughout the year by youth groups and special groups that want to participate. If there are no days left a congregation may be asked to send a skeleton crew to share their day with a youth group so that students have the opportunity to be involved in the experience.
