Participating Congregations and their Volunteers are the foundation of the Manna House program.
Each Participating Congregation selects one day a month and provides 6 volunteers to serve from 10:00 to 1:00 on that day. They are not required to donate food or financial support but often do. The volunteers prepare the food, set up for the arrival of guests, serve the meal, and cleanup. There are also volunteers who pick up food which is donated on a regular weekly basis and deliver it to Manna House, and a volunteer who removes the recyling.
There is a volunteer from each Congregation that serves on the Manna House Board of directors. At these monthly meetings the Board assesses the menu and the meals served during the last month, finances, programs, dinners, etc. and any joys or concerns that participating congregations may have.
